MINISTRIES

Discipleship
Discipleship is a vital and essential key to church maturation and to timely progression toward the achievement of goals that are part of the vision put before our local body. As we all know, the only complete source that deals with all of life’s problems, identifies causes, and provides solutions is the Word of God. All of our discipleship efforts are designed to familiarize believers with the Bible and the power of the Holy Spirit and to teach them to use God’s Word as a source for guidance through all of life’s circumstances.

Men’s Fellowship
Throughout scripture we find reference to men and their responsibility to head the family. Our Men’s Fellowship Ministry is set to help men understand their role as husband, father, or single. We seek to enhance their understanding of the scriptures and provide an atmosphere where dialogue can be carried on about issues relative to men.

We desire to provide accountability to men who want to be mentored in areas of their life that lack spiritual maturity; to join corporately together in times of pray fellowship, and worship in an effort to become men modeling the life of Christ.

The Men’s Fellowship and breakfast meets every fourth Saturday from 8:00 to 9:30 AM. All males 13 or older are invited to attend.

Women for Jesus
The Women for Jesus Ministry was established to help women understand their role as mother, wife, or single from a biblical perspective and to enhance their understanding of the scriptures and provide an atmosphere where dialogue can be carried on concerning issues relative to women. The Women’s Ministry is set to unite women of all colors, cultures, and religious backgrounds in the love of Jesus Christ (Revelation 5:9) and help them find their place in the body of Christ.

We desire to provide accountability to women who desire to be mentored in areas of their lives that lack spiritual maturity; to join corporately together in times of prayer, fellowship, and worship in an effort to become women that manifest the life of Christ.

Specific women’s ministry is available under the mantle of Women for Jesus:

Daughters of Zion is a ministry to women who have been abused, broken, rejected and battered, to help guide them through steps of restoration in a support group setting.

My Sisters Keeper is a ministry dealing with issues that are pertinent to single women. Meetings are held on the third Friday of each month from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. in an upstairs classroom at FCCIOC.

Women Mentoring Women is the part of the ministry that meets at the church on a monthly basis offering fellowship and leadership in various areas including evangelism, parenting, teaching, hospitality and more. The Ministry also hosts an annual Women’s Conference during the month of July as well as a get-away weekend in September.

Seed Planters Book Club
Inaugurated in 2004, our book club is purposed to offer an opportunity for members to fellowship while reading doctrinally sound books that enhance our relationship with God. Upon the completion of each book, members assemble in an informal group setting to discuss the benefits of the material and concepts presented.

Seedlings of Faith—Children’s Church Ministry
Seedlings of Faith was founded in May 1985. Mrs. Delores Tapscott attended the Willie George children’s workers seminar in Atlanta, Georgia. Through Willie George’s (Gospel Bill) teaching and ministering, they were enlightened and came back determined, dedicated, and zealous about the work at hand. A Jesus rally was held with the youth shouting Jesus cheers. Our scripture, “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13) was placed in the youths’ hearts to use against our adversary—“Death Breath” (Satan).

Nearly twenty years later, Children’s Church occupies classrooms in the upstairs portion of our Family Life Center. The Seedlings of Faith (nursery through 5th grade) meets every Sunday morning during the morning worship service. We have secured devoted teachers and workers and are still on the move for the Lord.

W.A.R. Youth Ministry
W.A.R. (“Warriors Aggressively Revolutionizing”) Youth ministry is broken down into two groups: Phase I—6th thru 8th grades and Phase II—9th thru 12th grades. W.A.R. provides a safe haven for young people to receive Biblical and foundational instruction. The mission statement follows:

W.A.R. is driven to provoke this generation to passionately pursue God for relationship, purpose, and power in order to achieve its God-given destiny of taking homes, schools and communities for the Kingdom of God.

Our foremost goal is to bring youth into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and to allow the Holy Spirit to influence their lives as believers. We also desire to give them spiritual and social support, so we plan fun events and outings throughout the year. We are blessed to have an awesome youth ministry team here at FCCIOC, a group of men and women who have dedicated themselves, their time, and talents to minister to this generation. God has given them the desire and the ability to touch the hearts of our young people.

Praise and Worship
David wrote in Psalm 22:3 that God inhabits the praises of His people. The Praise and Worship Team's function is to lead God's people into God's presence. The purpose of the Praise and Worship Team is to magnify the Lord in song and to enhance the church's praise and worship, to draw the people's attention to the Holy Spirit. The music used includes traditional and modern selections and is often "scripture songs" which are largely unfamiliar to many who have attended denominational churches. By singing the words of scriptures back to God, "with everything that is within you," the Lord is magnified, and the people's faith is stirred.

Another vital aspect of Praise and Worship Ministry is the Dance Team. Just as King David danced before the Lord (2 Samuel 6:14), the dancers here at FCCIOC use their entire being to express worship. We also encourage our congregants to join us not only lifting your voices in praise, but also using your bodies to dance and express your love and worship to God.

Intercessory Prayer
Thursday evenings are designated for the members of Faith Christian Church and International Outreach Center to come together in one accord, in unity in the bond of peace, and lay our petitions before the Lord. Members gather for an hour to pray and intercede not only for our loved ones and friends, but to cover issues from the White House to local governments, schools and community needs. We are obedient to the Holy Spirit as He leads us to pray the heart of the Father in this rewarding hour.

On the fourth Friday evening of every month, we begin an all-night prayer session from 7:00 p.m. until 7:00 a.m. the following morning. Participants may join in prayer for one hour at any time or for the entire twelve hours.
